That's a good argument, honestly.
I'm honestly not trying to be provocative when I say this -- I think, given our schedule, defense, special teams, and running game, there are several subsequent VT QBs who could've gotten us to the national championship game that year.
I used to feel like most on this board about Vick. He was a generational talent, a one of a kind, transcendent, etc. I now think he was a tremendous athlete who was put in the best possible situation that masked his many deficencies as a QB. I do not think he could truly carry an offense in college. I don't think he could've helped us win if he had to drop back and pass 30-40 times a game. He just wasn't that good of a QB. I think that's reflected in his numbers.
He was clearly transcendent in the level of athleticism he brought to the QB position in college. There hadn't been that kind of athlete at the position previously. The Tommy Fraziers of the world were GOOD athletes but not ELITE athletes. But other than that, I just don't see it. JMO.
